Matt resides in Indianola area of Fox Chapel school district with his wife Mindy, their 4 children, and their 2 dogs (Cici and Bailey). Matt started working for his parents right out of high school in 1986. He has 34 years of experience in the optical business. Matts focus at first was to learn as much as he could about the techniques used for fitting and adjusting glasses to fit the individual patient, but soon he was making other changes to the business. Some of these changes were bringing in up to date frames and lense technology and also he took on cutting and assembling the glasses for each individual making sure that every job was meticulously created and fit to the individual purchasing the glasses (many optical stores do not do this. They send the jobs out to a large company to complete the assembly of glasses). If he finds that a lense or frame is defective, he deals with it immediately and before the product is delivered to the patient. This allows time to be saved and the customer not having to deal with a problem that they don’t have to. Matt has been told by many customers that he has a knack to pick frames that not only fit the patients facial features comfortably, but also look great on the client.Of course the final decision is the clients, but Matt makes the process a personalized experience and with his assistance the process becomes a lot easier! Matt also enjoys hiking, skiing, and most activity in the outdoors. He enjoys being anywhere his family is.

Mindy is Matt’s wife and part owner of Kieffer Optical. She started out working for Matts parents doing paperwork and ordering for the company when they first got married. Mindy had gone to college and received her undergraduate degree in Special Education and then continued on to study Speech Language Pathology. She was not able to finish her Masters degree in speech pathology due to Matt and Mindy’s first child being born in 1999. She decided to postpone the completion of her degree to stay home with her son. Then 2 years later they had triplets (2 girls and a boy). Once Matt and Mindy purchased the business, Mindy became the behind the scenes person helping with aspects of the business that allowed her to be a stay home mom. Now that her children are grown and are all off to college in the fall, Mindy will be even more involved with the business and pursuing other business opportunities in realestate. She loves cooking for her family, hiking, skiing and most activities outdoor and is learning to play the guitar. As long as she is with her family she is happy.

Donis is Matt’s right hand at the office, She resides in the lower Burrell area with her husband, 2 daughters and her dog Duke. Her favorite dessert is HoHo cake and ice cream. She enjoys any activity with her family……hiking, and beach time. She loves watching her girls play volleyball and cheering, but her favorite thing is to watch her girls perform their Black Light Shows at church. Donis came to Kieffer Optical with over 20 years of experience working in the optical world. She is very knowledgeable of the products and frames that are available and can guide customers through the process easily. She has an impeccable sense of style and fashion that she uses to find a pair of glasses that you will love wearing not only for comfort but also style. Donis loves wearing a huge variety of personal frames so stop in to see what frame she has on today!

Tisha has worked for Kieffer Optical for 2 years. She resides in the Leechburg area with her husband, 2 children and her dog Vada and cat Oscar. Tisha is the receptionist at Kieffer Optical and will greet you with a friendly “Hello” either on the phone or when you step through the doors at the Aspinwall office. She loves pumpkin pie and watching her kids in their activities. Tisha enjoys riding on her utv, being outdoor with her children and going for boat rides on any type of boat or body of water. Her kids are everything to her.
